This website is designed for students enrolled in my Pre-IB World History and IB Global courses at Rufus King International Baccalaureate High School. The purpose of this site is to provide information concerning curriculum, grades, and homework. The site will be updated frequently, so check back often for news, announcements and long-term homework assignments.

March 13th , 2009 - Everything's been graded and the 3rd mark period grades have been entered into the computer. Welcome to the last mark period of the year! We've got 9 weeks to go. Hope everyone is enjoying their extended weekend and I'll see you all on Monday!

March 8th , 2009 - I'm busy grading the World War 2 Test the Juniors in IB Global took on Friday. The next test for the Freshmen classes is on Thursday. We've got no student attendance on Friday! Grades close on Wednesday March 11th, so all missing and late work must be turned in by that date. Grades are due to be mailed out on the 16th. We're moving into the final stretch of the school year!

February 16th , 2009 - Hope everyone is enjoying their Mid-Winter Break today. Just a reminder that we've got Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, and there will no classes on Friday. Interim Reports were completed for all students in all of my classes, and they will be distributed at Conferences. If you are unable to attend Conferences, then they will be mailed home. All grades have been updated on ESIS Gradebook.

February 2nd , 2009 - Freshmen classes took their test on Friday. Grades will be posted early this week. Global classes will be tested on Tuesday the 3rd. Ms. Townsend will be picking up the World History classes beginning this week. I hope everyone had an excellent Super Bowl weekend, and I look forward to having a wonderful February!

January 27th, 2009 - We're well into our second semester and the first tests in all classes are on the horizon. The first World History test of the mark period will be on Friday, the 30th. The IB Global test is scheduled for next Tuesday. Welcome back everyone.

November 8th, 2008 - The second mark period is quickly passing and Interim Grades will be posted online for mailing on Monday, November 17th. TOK students need to be aware of their upcoming IB presentations as well as spend some time working on their journals. IB Global students will have a test next Friday. World History students should be working on their review sheets and preparing for a test on Thursday. Thanks for everyone's hard work and dedication.

November 2nd, 2008 - Thanks to everyone who came out for parent-teacher conferences. Its now the weekend of Teacher's Convention and I've taken the extra couple of days at work to finally get caught up after the crush of the end of last mark period. Everyone should've gotten their 1st mark period grades by now. Remember that you can always stay on top of grades by using parent assistant. And you can stay in touch with me through email. September 30th, 2008 - The 2nd World History test begins tomorrow. Freshman classes will be taking the short answer and essay portion of the test on Wednesday and the multiple choice and matching portion on Thursday. The review sheet is due tomorrow. Theory of Knowledge students should turn in their journals to me by the end of the day on Thursday. Parent-Teacher Conferences are to be held tomorrow and Thursday. I look forward to seeing many of you there!

September 20th, 2008 - All grades are up-to-date in the ESIS Grade Book. Theory of Knowledge students completed their first essay on Friday. We will begin presentations in TOK in the next couple of weeks. World History classes are studying Ancient Greece and Rome while IB Global courses are studying World War I.

September 16th, 2008 - The first test and review sheets have been completed in Global and World Classes and the grades are currently posted on ESIS and can be accessed using Student and Parent Assistant. Interim reports go out next Friday.

September 1st, 2008 - Welcome back! Welcome to all new and returning students. I hope you enjoyed your summer break. This website will generally be updated weekly. It is a source of information on upcoming assignments and grades as well as other issues relating to my classes. I look forward to having a wonderful year with all of you! If you're interested in checking your grades online, sign up for Parent Assistant. A link to the Parent Assistant website is located on the left side of this page. MPS policy now states that all teachers use the Grade Book on ESIS, so you can now check grades in all of your classes! Also, all freshmen classes have now been signed up with a login and password to access their textbooks online. The link to the online version of the website is on the left. Welcome back!
